We truly believe our beef is best!
While of course we think that about our own beef, in this case we also mean it about our area of the country. Eastern Montana raises great beef. It’s a fact. We have a great environment for healthy cattle and we have a great history of ranchers reaching for the best in genetics. Sadly, when that great beef hits the commercial beef processing facilities it is lost in generic beef supplies from all over the world.
That is annoying. But there are difficulties marketing our great eastern Montana beef in general – and Aus Ranch beef in particular. In short, to sell beef for human consumption it must be sold as a steer not as beef. Sure, we provide the service to our customers to get their steer into their freezer. But once a steer or cow is in our freezer, it is not legal for us to sell that beef. And we don’t!
Most of the time, the nutrient-rich organ meats like heart, liver, tongue, kidneys are not requested by customers. Honestly, they aren’t my preference either. However, wasting protein is not why we do this! From this problem, the idea of Aus Ranch Dog Treats was born!
